The Pilot Falcon Fountain Pen Cap, Clip, and Finial; you can see the facets at the top of the clip

I just bought the Pilot Namiki Falcon Collection Fountain Pen, Black with Rhodium Accents, Soft Fine Nib (60741), and I noticed that the clip moves at the top of the clip when pressure is applied either left or right to the bottom of the clip. Is this normal?
Hi CJ, thanks for the question! Unfortunately, I no longer have the Falcon, so I’m not able to test it, but that doesn’t really sound right. All my other Pilot pens have rock solid clips. If it’s moving at the top, it might mean that the small finial that holds the clip in place is either loose or wasn’t properly assembled. I’d try tightening that first to see if that solves it. If not, you should probably contact the company you bought it from…maybe they’ll replace it.
I’m not sure how to tighten it. I have contacted the Pilot Pen Company and Goulet Pen Company and they’ve both told me the opposite and that the pen clip is working normally, but so far I now have two other sources saying that doesn’t sound right. I’ve got a small video showing what the pen clip is doing if you would like to see it.
Thank you,

Both Pilot and Goulet are more familiar with the Falcon than I am. The only other advice I have is if you live near a pen store (or if you can attend a pen show), you can compare yours against other Falcons to see if they all have this issue or if yours is an anomaly. Good luck!
