So you logged into Facebook to find the 46th request of the week to play Monster Face Punch from your Facebook friends. You’re sick of getting these invitations. You hate monsters, and the last thing you want to do is spend time punching one in the face. (Note: There is no Monster Face Punch. I made it up, so stop looking for it.)
Instead of screaming, “For the last time, I don’t want to run a match-three mafia farm!” at your screen, you can simply block the game in Facebook so that you stop getting those requests. Cool, eh? Facebook wants to make money by sucking you into more Facebook games and pages, so they don’t make a big fuss about this blocking feature. But it’s there.
Here’s how you can do it…
Step 1: Go to your Facebook Home page, look on the left side of the screen and find the list of favorites and apps. In the apps section, you’ll see an entry for Games. Click it. This brings you to the App Center.
Step 2: In the app center, find the game you want to block. You might need to browse through the giant pile of games until you find the rascal.
Step 3: Once you locate the offending game, click it’s name. This takes you to the game’s page.
Step 4: On the right side of the screenshots, you’ll see a short list of links. The third link in the list is Block. Click this to block the game.
Step 5: Of course, you’ll get a confirmation dialog box on the off chance that you clicked that Block link accidentally. Just click the Confirm button to jettison the game from your life.
Step 6: A Status message opens letting you know that the game has been blocked. Click the Close button and enjoy the peace. At least until Monster Face Punch II comes out next month.
